The Weasel's Lost Luggage - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK

It was a bright morning at the busy station. A small weasel with a mustard-yellow scarf and tiny round glasses hurried through the big doors. He carried a brown leather satchel across his chest and a long, thin tail that swished behind him. Today was the day of his big journey, and his heart felt light and happy. He was going to visit his cousin in the countryside. 1

The weasel found a spot near the benches and set down his suitcase. It was a sturdy blue case with a silver clasp. He checked his satchel for his ticket, then looked at the clock. He had plenty of time. The station was full of creatures coming and going, and the weasel felt a little flutter of excitement. He decided to buy a snack for the trip. 2

When he came back to the bench, the weasel stopped short. His blue suitcase was gone! He looked left and right, his dark brown eyes wide behind his glasses. His long tail drooped, and his black nose twitched with worry. Where could it be? He felt a lump in his throat and did not know what to do. 3

Just then, a rabbit in a green station attendant vest hurried over. She had long upright ears with pink inside and a kind smile. "Hello, I'm Rosa," she said. "You look worried. Can I help?" The weasel explained about his lost luggage. Rosa pulled out a red notebook and pencil. "Don't worry," she said. "We'll retrace your steps together." 4

First, Rosa led the weasel to the ticket counter. The clerk shook his head. "No suitcase here," he said. The weasel's whiskers drooped. Rosa wrote something in her red notebook. "That's all right," she said gently. "We'll keep looking. Where did you go after you bought your ticket?" The weasel thought hard, then pointed toward the waiting room. 5

They walked to the waiting room, where several animals sat on benches. The weasel peered under every seat, but there was no blue suitcase. He sighed. "I'm never going to find it," he said. Rosa patted his paw. "Let's think step by step," she said. "You bought a snack, didn't you? Let's check the snack stand." The weasel nodded and followed her. 6

At the snack stand, the weasel's mouth watered at the smell of fresh buns. He asked the hedgehog behind the counter about his suitcase. The hedgehog shook her head. "I haven't seen it," she said. The weasel's shoulders slumped. Rosa opened her red notebook and looked at her notes. "You've been very brave," she said. "Now let's check the last place you remember." 7

The weasel closed his eyes and tried to picture his morning. He remembered buying a warm bun and then sitting on a bench near the big clock. "I think I left it by the bench!" he said. Rosa's ears perked up. "Let's go see," she said with a smile. They hurried back through the station, the weasel's tail swishing with hope. The clock ticked softly above them. 8

When they reached the bench, the weasel gasped. There was his blue suitcase, safe and sound, tucked under the seat. He had forgotten it in his excitement. "You found it!" he cried. Rosa smiled and put away her notebook. "You did," she said. "You just needed to retrace your steps." The weasel hugged his suitcase and thanked Rosa again and again. 9

The weasel realized that if he had kept his things together, he would not have worried so much. He promised himself to be more organized on his journey. Rosa gave him a small sticker for his satchel. "For good luck," she said. The weasel felt proud of his new friend and his found luggage. He checked his ticket and his suitcase one more time. 10

As the train chugged into the station, the weasel turned to Rosa. "Thank you for helping me," he said. "You made a scary morning much better." Rosa smiled. "That's my job," she said. "And you were very brave to retrace your steps." They shook paws. The weasel felt warm inside, and his worry had melted away like morning mist. 11

The weasel boarded the train and found a window seat. He waved to Rosa on the platform. She waved back with her red notebook in her paw. The train whistle blew, and the journey began. The weasel settled in, feeling calm and happy. He knew that being organized would help him enjoy the trip even more. His new friend had taught him a valuable lesson. 12

As the train rolled through the countryside, the weasel opened his satchel and found a small map. He studied it carefully, planning his visit to his cousin. He felt proud of himself for being organized. The fields rolled by, green and golden. He smiled, thinking of the adventure ahead and the friend he had made. The journey felt like a fresh start. 13

When the train arrived at his stop, the weasel stepped off with his suitcase in hand. His cousin was waiting on the platform. "You made it!" she cried. The weasel told her about his lost luggage and the kind rabbit who helped him. "What a good lesson," his cousin said. "Organization really does reduce worry." The weasel nodded, feeling wise and happy. 14

That evening, the weasel wrote a thank-you note to Rosa. He told her how much her help meant to him. He also made a checklist for his next journey, so he would always remember his suitcase. He knew that being organized made him feel calm and ready for anything.
