Under a big oak tree, in a cozy burrow, lives a rabbit named Remy who runs a very special bakery. Every evening when the moon rises, his little shop fills with warm light and sweet smells. Wearing a sky-blue apron with a tiny moon embroidered on the pocket, Remy kneads dough and mixes moonbeams into the batter, sprinkling starlight on top. His pastries come out of the oven shimmering with a soft golden glow, treats meant to bring warmth to anyone who eats them. Yet Remy carries a quiet worry: he bakes these glowing pastries every night but always eats them alone, too shy to invite anyone over, afraid that others might not like his treats.

One night a tiny mouse named Millie, small as a palm and wearing a red neckerchief, appears at his door, drawn by the wonderful smell. When Remy admits he has more pastries than he can share, Millie offers to help him deliver them to lonely neighbors. Together they set off into the moonlit night, carrying warm glowing treats to Old Badger, a squirrel, a sleepy hedgehog, a quiet mole and a family of field mice. At every door, sleepy faces light up with smiles, and Remy begins to feel a happy glow inside his chest.

This gentle tale follows Remy as he discovers that his pastries are special, but it is the sharing that makes them truly magic. Young readers will learn how shyness can melt away when we open our door to others, and how small acts of kindness can turn loneliness into warmth. The story is suited to children who enjoy animal characters, cozy settings and quiet lessons about friendship and generosity.

The Rabbit's Moonlight Bakery - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK

In a cozy burrow under a big oak tree, a rabbit named Remy ran a very special bakery. Every evening, when the moon rose high, Remy's little shop came alive with warm light and sweet smells. The rabbit wore a sky-blue apron with a tiny moon embroidered on the pocket. Flour dusted his soft cream-white paws as he kneaded dough. His long ears twitched with joy as he worked. 1

Remy's bakery was famous for treats that glowed. He mixed moonbeams into the batter and sprinkled starlight on top. When the pastries came out of the oven, they shimmered with a soft, golden light. The rabbit smiled as he set them on the counter. 'These will bring warmth to anyone who eats them,' he whispered. His round brown eyes sparkled with pride. 2

But Remy had a secret worry. He baked the glowing pastries every night, yet he always ate them alone. His little bakery was tucked away, and he was too shy to invite anyone over. 'What if they don't like my treats?' he thought. His fluffy tail drooped. The rabbit sighed and watched the moonlight dance on the empty chairs. He wished he had someone to share with. 3

One night, a tiny mouse appeared at the bakery door. She was very small, just the size of a palm, with grey-brown fur and large round ears. A red neckerchief was tied neatly around her neck, and a little woven basket hung from her shoulder. 'Hello!' she squeaked. 'I smelled something wonderful. What are you baking?' Her bright black eyes widened with curiosity. 4

Remy's ears perked up. 'I'm baking moonlight pastries,' he said. 'They glow and taste like sweet dreams. But I have so many, and no one to share them with.' The mouse stepped closer. 'I'm Millie,' she said. 'I could help you deliver them! I know lots of neighbors who are lonely at night.' The rabbit hesitated, then nodded. 'Really? You would do that?' 5

Millie the mouse picked up a tiny basket and filled it with warm, glowing pastries. 'Let's start with Old Badger,' she said. 'He lives alone and hardly ever has visitors.' Remy wrapped the pastries in a soft cloth and placed them carefully in the basket. The two new friends set off into the moonlit night. The rabbit's heart beat fast with excitement and a little bit of nervousness. 6

They hopped down a winding path to a snug den under a fallen log. Millie knocked softly. Old Badger opened the door, his eyes sleepy and sad. 'We brought you a treat from the moonlight bakery,' said Remy. He held out a glowing pastry. The badger's face lit up with a smile. 'For me?' he asked. 'How kind!' He took a bite and his eyes sparkled. 7

Next, they visited a squirrel who lived in a tall oak tree. She had been feeling lonely all week. When she saw the glowing pastries, she clapped her tiny paws. 'They're beautiful!' she chirped. The warm light made her cozy nest feel like a party. Remy and Millie waved goodbye and hopped to the next house. The rabbit began to feel a happy glow inside his chest. 8

They delivered pastries to a sleepy hedgehog, a quiet mole, and a family of field mice. At every door, sleepy faces lit up with smiles. 'Thank you!' they called. 'What a wonderful surprise!' Millie's little basket was empty, but her heart was full. Remy looked at the happy neighbors and felt a warm tingle in his paws. Sharing felt better than eating alone. 9

As they hopped home, Millie said, 'You know, Remy, your pastries are special, but it's the sharing that makes them magic.' The rabbit nodded slowly. 'I think you're right,' he said. 'I was so shy about inviting anyone over, but tonight I saw how happy they were.' His round brown eyes shone with a new understanding. The mouse smiled and squeezed his paw. 10

Back at the bakery, Remy had an idea. 'Millie, would you like to be my delivery partner?' he asked. 'We can make the bakery a place where everyone is welcome.' The mouse's eyes grew wide with delight. 'I would love that!' she squeaked. They shook paws on it. From that night on, the rabbit and the mouse were a team, and the bakery felt warmer than ever. 11

Remy began to bake even more pastries, and he left the door open for any neighbor who wanted to visit. Millie delivered baskets of glowing treats all around the meadow. The bakery became a happy gathering place. Animals came to chat and share stories over warm, sweet bites. The rabbit's shyness melted away. He learned that sharing his treats made everyone happy, including himself. 12

One evening, all the neighbors threw a party for Remy and Millie. They brought flowers and berries and sang songs under the moon. 'Thank you for sharing your magic with us,' said Old Badger. Remy's heart swelled with joy. He looked at Millie, who was beaming. 'We couldn't have done it without you,' he said. The mouse blushed and adjusted her red neckerchief. 13

From then on, the moonlight bakery shone even brighter. The rabbit and the mouse worked side by side, baking and delivering glowing pastries. They discovered that happiness grows when it is shared. Every night, sleepy faces lit up with smiles, and lonely hearts felt warm. Remy's sky-blue apron had a little more flour on it, but his smile was the brightest thing in the meadow.
