In a sunny meadow full of clover, a young rabbit named Ruby lives in a cozy burrow beneath a big oak tree. Curious and full of energy, she spends her days hopping and skipping until one morning she discovers a strange box tied with a bright ribbon. Inside are bright red boots with gold buckles and faint star patterns. When Ruby slips them on, a small hop sends her soaring over the tall grass and past the apple tree. The boots are magic, and every jump becomes enormous.
Soon, though, excitement turns to trouble. Ruby cannot stop or steer, and each jump carries her higher and farther. She tumbles through flowers, startles a squirrel, nearly crashes into a beehive, and finally lands in a prickly bush. Watching from the path is Tilly, a calm tortoise with a brown satchel and round wire glasses. Tilly calls out kindly and offers to help, teaching Ruby with a piece of chalk and a series of small circles drawn on the ground.
Step by step, Ruby learns to land where she aims, to jump high but come down softly, and to decide her landing place before she leaps. The story shows young readers that new abilities are exciting but need patience and practice to be truly enjoyed. It is a gentle tale for children about curiosity, self-control, and learning from someone who moves at a different pace.

A Chapter from the Book
The Rabbit's Magic Boots - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
In a sunny meadow full of clover, a young rabbit named Ruby lived in a cozy burrow under a big oak tree. She had soft light brown fur, long upright ears with pink inner lining, and a fluffy white tail that twitched with excitement. Ruby loved to hop, skip, and jump all day long. Her round dark brown eyes sparkled with curiosity about everything around her. 1
One morning, while exploring near the edge of the forest, Ruby found a strange box tied with a bright ribbon. Inside were a pair of bright red boots with gold buckles and faint star patterns. They were slightly too big for her small feet, but when she slipped them on, they felt warm and tingly. Ruby wiggled her toes and giggled. 'These must be magic!' she whispered. 2
Ruby took a small hop, and suddenly—whoosh!—she soared high into the air, over the tall grass and past the apple tree. She landed with a soft thump, her heart pounding with joy. 'This is amazing!' she shouted. She jumped again, and this time she flew even farther, over a bush and across a little stream. The magic boots made every jump enormous. 3
But soon Ruby realized she couldn't stop. Each jump took her higher and farther, and her landings were wobbly and wild. She zoomed past a startled squirrel, tumbled through a patch of flowers, and nearly crashed into a beehive. 'Help!' she cried, as her boots carried her up, up, up. She had no control at all, and her quick twitchy movements made it worse. 4
Down below, a tortoise named Tilly was walking slowly along the path. She had green wrinkled skin, a dark green domed shell with hexagon patterns, and gentle amber eyes behind round wire glasses. A small brown satchel bag hung across her shell. Tilly heard Ruby's cries and looked up. 'Oh my,' she said calmly, 'that rabbit needs some help.' 5
Tilly watched as Ruby bounced from one side of the meadow to the other, unable to stop. 'Slow down, little one!' Tilly called out in her kind, steady voice. 'You're going too fast and too far!' Ruby tried to slow down, but the boots had a mind of their own. She zoomed past Tilly, her long ears flapping in the wind, and landed in a prickly bush. 6
Ruby pulled herself out of the bush, her fur ruffled and her feelings hurt. 'I thought magic boots would be fun,' she sniffled, 'but I can't control them at all.' Tilly slowly made her way over, her short sturdy legs moving with calm purpose. 'New abilities are exciting,' she said gently, 'but they need practice and control to be truly enjoyed.' 7
Tilly opened her brown satchel and took out a small piece of chalk. 'First, let's practice jumping just a little,' she said, drawing a small circle on the ground. 'Try to land inside this circle.' Ruby nodded and took a tiny hop. The boots gave a little bounce, and she landed right in the circle. 'I did it!' she cheered, her fluffy white tail wagging. 8
They practiced again and again. Tilly drew bigger circles and smaller ones, and Ruby learned to jump just the right distance. 'Now try jumping high but landing softly,' Tilly suggested. Ruby jumped up and came down with a gentle plop. 'Good!' said Tilly. 'You're learning to control your landing.' Ruby's round dark brown eyes shone with determination. 9
Next, Tilly taught Ruby to stop. 'Before you jump, decide where you want to land,' she explained. 'Then jump and land right there.' Ruby tried it. She jumped toward a daisy and landed exactly beside it. 'I stopped where I wanted!' she squealed. Tilly smiled her kind smile. 'You're getting better every time,' she said. 'Practice makes perfect.' 10
After many tries, Ruby could jump high and far and still stop exactly where she wanted. She leaped over the stream and landed on the other side, then jumped back with perfect control. 'Look at me!' she called to Tilly. 'I can jump enormous distances and still stop!' Tilly clapped her short sturdy legs together. 'You've worked hard,' she said. 'I'm proud of you.' 11
Ruby realized that the magic boots were more fun now that she could control them. She showed Tilly how she could jump in a circle, jump over a log, and even jump and land on one foot. 'You see,' said Tilly, 'new abilities are fun, but they need practice and control to be truly enjoyed.' Ruby nodded, understanding every word. 12
From that day on, Ruby practiced every morning with her magic boots. She learned to jump higher and farther, but always with control. Sometimes she would visit Tilly and they would practice together, with Tilly drawing circles and Ruby landing in them. The meadow became their special practice ground, filled with laughter and encouragement. 13
Ruby also learned to help others. When a little mouse couldn't reach an apple, Ruby jumped up and fetched it. When a bird dropped its twig, Ruby leaped and caught it. She used her magic boots to help her friends, always landing gently and safely. 'You're a kind rabbit,' said Tilly. 'And a clever one, too.' 14
One evening, Ruby sat beside Tilly under the big oak tree. 'Thank you for teaching me,' she said. 'The boots are wonderful now that I can control them.' Tilly smiled. 'You learned a valuable lesson,' she said. 'New abilities are fun, but they need practice and control to be truly enjoyed.' Ruby nodded, her long ears standing tall.
