On a bright seaside morning, a pelican in a blue postal cap and red canvas satchel opens his post office, where every letter is treated as a little piece of someone's heart. He sorts mail by the sea breeze and stamps each envelope with a happy thump, promising that no message will be left behind. His careful routine is interrupted one day by an envelope with no street, no house and no name, only the clue "to my dear friend, by the big striped rock near the singing waves." Faced with a missing address, the pelican worries that this message may never reach its reader.
Help arrives in the form of a young tern with a black cap, a bright orange beak and a tiny green satchel bearing a star badge. Together they fly low along the coast, asking for directions from a crab in a striped sun hat and a seal wearing a yellow scarf. Each encounter adds a piece to the puzzle, guiding them past dunes and bobbing boats toward the cove where the waves seem to sing. The story follows their search step by step, showing how patience, observation and friendly cooperation turn an impossible address into a findable home.
Young readers who enjoy gentle animal tales will find a warm, straightforward story about kindness and teamwork. The pelican's dedication to his work and the tern's eagerness to help model how small acts of care connect people, and the seaside setting offers plenty of details for children to picture and remember. The book suits early readers and read-aloud sessions, carrying a quiet lesson: a difficult task becomes lighter when someone offers to help, and every message deserves to find its way.

A Chapter from the Book
The Pelican's Post Office Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
On a bright seaside morning, the pelican opened his post office. He wore a blue postal cap and a red canvas mail satchel. His huge golden-orange pouch bill held letters safe and dry. Seagulls called, waves rolled, and the little bell above the door went ding-ding-ding. Everyone knew: if you needed a message sent, the pelican would get it there. 1
The pelican loved his job more than anything. Each letter was a little piece of someone's heart, and he treated every one with care. He sorted mail by the sea breeze and stamped each envelope with a happy thump. “No message left behind!” he chirped to the gulls. His small dark eyes twinkled, and his soft crest bobbed as he worked. 2
One morning, a letter arrived with a problem. The address said only: “To my dear friend, by the big striped rock near the singing waves.” The pelican tilted his head. “A missing address!” he worried. “How will I ever deliver this?” He checked his satchel and frowned. The letter had no street, no house, no name—just a friendly clue. 3
Just then, a young tern swooped down and landed on the post office rail. She had a black cap on her head, a bright orange beak, and a tiny green satchel with a star badge. “I heard you need help,” she said. “I know this coast very well. Let's find that address together!” The pelican smiled. “A helper! How wonderful!” 4
The pelican tucked the letter into his pouch, and the tern flapped her forked tail. “Follow me!” she called. They flew low over the water, past laughing gulls and bobbing boats. The tern's quick round eyes scanned the shore. “Look for clues!” she said. “A big striped rock and singing waves. We'll find them, I know we will.” 5
Down on the warm sand, a crab waved his claws. He wore a striped blue-and-white sun hat. “Hello, up there!” he called. “Are you looking for something?” The pelican landed with a soft thump. “We're looking for a big striped rock near the singing waves,” he said. The crab clicked his claws. “I know a rock like that! Follow the shore that way!” 6
They thanked the crab and flew on. The tern led the way, her wings light as paper. Soon they spotted a seal lounging on a smooth grey rock. He wore a yellow scarf around his neck. “Good morning!” he barked. “What brings you two along the coast?” The pelican showed the letter. “We need to find a home near a big striped rock.” 7
The seal's whiskers twitched. “A big striped rock? I know just the place! It's past the tall dunes, where the waves sing in the little cove.” He pointed with his flipper. “Fly low and look for the rock with white and grey stripes. You're almost there!” The tern did a happy loop in the air. “Thank you, kind seal!” 8
They flew over the dunes, the wind ruffling their feathers. Below, the waves sang a soft, whooshing song. “Listen!” said the tern. “The singing waves!” Then she saw it: a big rock with white and grey stripes, standing right by the water. “There it is!” she cried. “We found the rock! Now we just need the home.” 9
Near the striped rock stood a cozy little house with a blue door and a flower box. A mailbox shaped like a shell stood by the gate. “This must be it!” said the pelican. He felt proud and a little nervous. “Let's deliver the letter.” The tern nodded. “You do the delivering. I'll watch and cheer!” She perched on the gate and gave a happy chirp. 10
The pelican waddled to the door and gave a gentle knock. A kind old turtle opened it, wearing round glasses. “A letter for me?” she said. “Oh, my friend wrote to me!” The pelican held out the envelope with his big bill. “Special delivery!” he said. The turtle's eyes sparkled. “Thank you! I've waited so long for this.” 11
The turtle read the letter and smiled. “My friend invites me to visit! How wonderful.” She looked at the pelican and the tern. “You two found me even without a proper address. That's true teamwork.” The tern's heart felt warm and full. “Helping was fun,” she said. “And now the letter is home.” 12
Back at the post office, the pelican stamped a shiny star on a chart. “Every message delivered!” he said proudly. He turned to the tern. “You were a wonderful helper. Would you like to be my post office partner?” The tern's eyes went wide. “Really? Yes, please!” She fluffed her feathers and gave a little hop of joy. 13
From that day on, the tern flew along the coast with the pelican. They delivered letters to crabs, seals, gulls, and turtles. Sometimes the addresses were tricky, but they always found a way. “Teamwork makes mail time happier!” the tern chirped. The pelican nodded, his blue cap bobbing. “And every message matters, big or small.” 14
The seaside post office became the happiest place on the coast. Animals came from all around to send their letters. The pelican greeted each one with a cheerful nod, and the tern zipped about with her green satchel. “Reliable communication!” said the pelican. “That's our motto.” The tern laughed.
