Deep down where the water is soft and blue, a cheerful lobster named Lucky lives in a cozy crack between two rocks. His shell is bright coral red and his amber eyes sparkle like tiny suns. One day, while exploring a quiet valley of the reef, he finds smooth shells that glow with a soft golden light, shimmering in pink, green and blue. That night, watching the shells twinkle beside him, Lucky imagines the whole ocean lit up and promises to make a lantern parade happen.
The next morning he shares his idea with his friends at the coral arch: Pearl the seahorse, who decorates each shell with beads and care; Snap the crab, who snaps coral twigs into strong frames; and Finn the fish, who swims beyond the reef to gather more glowing shells. Day by day the lanterns grow more beautiful as each friend contributes a different skill, and Lucky sees that they make a great team. When the lanterns are finished, the friends practice swimming in a line, and at last the parade begins as the ocean turns deep purple, drawing more and more animals into the glowing procession.
The story follows Lucky and his friends as they turn a single discovery into something shared by the whole reef. It shows young readers how an idea grows when everyone brings what they do best, and how patience and cooperation can light up a community. The gentle underwater setting, warm friendships and simple, rhythmic language make it well suited to children at the beginning of their reading lives and to families looking for a calm bedtime tale about generosity and teamwork.

The Lobster's Lantern Parade - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
Deep down where the water was soft and blue, a cheerful lobster named Lucky lived in a cozy crack between two rocks. His shell was bright coral red, and his amber eyes sparkled like tiny suns. He loved to hum as he scuttled along the sandy bottom, his big claws click-clacking a happy rhythm. Every morning, Lucky greeted the reef with a wide, friendly wave of his antennae. 1
One day, while exploring a quiet valley of the reef, Lucky spotted something glowing under a pile of old seaweed. He dug gently with his claws and pulled out a smooth shell that shone with a soft, golden light. 'Oh, how beautiful!' he whispered. He found more glowing shells, each one shimmering in pink, green, and blue. Lucky's heart danced with excitement. 2
That night, Lucky lay in his rocky home, watching the glowing shells twinkle beside him. 'I wish everyone could see this,' he thought. 'What if we had a lantern parade, with lights bobbing through the water?' His antennae wiggled with joy. He imagined fish and crabs and seahorses marching together, the whole ocean glowing. 'I'll make it happen!' he promised the shells. 3
The next morning, Lucky swam to the coral arch where his friends often gathered. 'Friends, I found glowing shells!' he announced. 'Let's build lanterns and have a parade!' The fish and crabs and seahorses listened with wide eyes. 'A parade?' said Pearl the seahorse, her violet eyes shining. 'How wonderful!' Snap the crab waved his big claw. 'I can help!' Everyone cheered. 4
Lucky showed them the glowing shells, and everyone gasped at the colors. 'We need to make lanterns,' Lucky said. 'Pearl, you're artistic. Can you decorate them?' Pearl nodded, her golden body shimmering. 'Snap, your claws are strong. Can you fix the frames?' Snap tipped his kelp sailor cap. 'Easy as pie!' Finn the fish flicked his turquoise fins. 'I'll gather more shells.' They all set to work. 5
Pearl the seahorse curled her tail around a shell and strung tiny beads along its edge. Her delicate snout twitched as she worked, and her pearl necklace glowed in the dim light. 'There!' she said, holding up a lantern that sparkled like a tiny star. She decorated each shell with care, making every lantern a work of art. The other animals watched in awe as she turned simple shells into treasures. 6
Snap the crab scuttled sideways, his six quick legs carrying him from one lantern to the next. With his big claw, he snapped twigs of coral into frames, fitting each glowing shell perfectly. 'A little tighter here,' he muttered, his green eyes crossed in concentration. Then he'd laugh and do a little sideways dance, making everyone giggle. Thanks to Snap, the lanterns were strong and ready to shine. 7
Finn the fish swam far beyond the reef to find more glowing shells. His blue and silver scales flashed as he darted through the water, his sea grass satchel bumping gently against his side. He returned with his bag full, his round dark eyes smiling. 'Plenty for everyone!' he said, and he helped the others choose the brightest shells for the parade. 8
As the days passed, the lanterns grew more beautiful. Pearl added strings of tiny shells that tinkled softly. Snap fixed handles so each lantern could be carried. Finn found a long strand of seaweed to tie them all together. Lucky watched his friends work, his amber eyes warm with happiness. 'We make a great team,' he said, and everyone agreed. 9
At last, the lanterns were finished. They lay in a glowing row on the sandy floor, each one shining with its own special light. 'They're perfect!' Lucky cheered. 'Tonight, we parade!' The friends practiced swimming in a line, holding their lanterns high. Snap practiced his sideways dance, and Pearl practiced her graceful glide. Finn swam ahead, lighting the way. 10
That evening, as the ocean turned deep purple, Lucky tied his seaweed sash tight and lifted his own tiny lantern. 'Follow me!' he called. Pearl glided next to him, her ribbon trailing like a soft cloud. Snap scuttled behind, his lantern swinging as he danced. Finn swam ahead, his satchel empty now but his heart full. The parade began. 11
The lanterns glowed brightly, casting colorful light on the coral and the sand. Fish darted in and out, their scales reflecting the glow. Crabs waved their claws, and seahorses swayed in time. 'Look at the colors!' cried a little fish. 'It's like a rainbow!' The whole reef came alive with shimmering light and happy sounds. Lucky's heart swelled with pride. 12
More and more animals joined the parade, each carrying a lantern or just dancing along. The water sparkled with pink, green, and gold. Snap did his funny sideways dance, and everyone laughed and copied him. Pearl spun in slow, graceful circles, her pearl necklace catching the light. Finn led them all in a joyful loop around the reef. The ocean was a river of light. 13
As the parade reached the big coral arch, Lucky stopped and turned to his friends. 'We did it!' he said. 'But it's not just the lanterns that make it beautiful. It's all of us working together.' Pearl nodded, her violet eyes soft. 'Each of us added something special,' she said. Snap waved his claw, and Finn smiled. 'Teamwork made it shine,' said Lucky.
