In a cozy village at the edge of a big forest lives Lily, a cheerful girl who fills her woven satchel with bread and apples each morning and sets off to explore the woods. One day, deep among the tall trees, she notices a pair of bright amber eyes watching her from behind a bush. It is a silver wolf with shimmering fur, faint glowing markings along his back and a woven vine collar set with a small blue stone. He is shy and ready to run, unused to kind words from humans, but Lily speaks softly and offers him a piece of fresh bread. Slowly the wolf creeps closer, takes a bite, and tells her his name is Silver.
Once they have shared their snack, Silver admits he knows of a secret path marked by glowing footprints that lead to a lost shrine. He has always wanted to follow them but was too scared to go alone. Lily suggests they go together, and side by side they step from one shimmering print to the next, like walking on stars. Along the way Silver tells stories of the forest and its animals, Lily trips on a root and is nudged gently back up, and the two learn to trust each other with every step. The footprints lead them at last to a small vine-covered shrine, where the blue stone on Silver's collar may be the key to what waits inside.
This gentle fairy tale is written for young children and for anyone who reads aloud to them. It shows how a simple act of kindness can turn fear into friendship, and how shared courage makes a difficult path easier to follow. The story moves at a calm, unhurried pace suited to bedtime reading, and its warm, vivid descriptions of the forest reward close attention.

A Chapter from the Book
The Girl and the Silver Wolf - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
Once upon a time, in a cozy village at the edge of a big forest, lived a cheerful girl named Lily. She had warm light-brown skin, wavy chestnut-brown hair with a small leaf clip, and freckles across her nose. Every morning, she put on her mustard-yellow raincoat, red scarf, green trousers, and brown boots. She grabbed her woven satchel, which was always filled with tasty snacks, and set off to explore the woods. 1
The forest was full of tall trees, singing birds, and soft moss underfoot. Lily loved to wander along the winding paths, looking for berries and listening to the leaves whisper. Today, she packed fresh bread and apples in her satchel, just in case she got hungry. As she walked deeper into the woods, she felt a gentle breeze and heard a strange, soft rustle behind a bush. 2
Behind the bush, a pair of bright amber eyes peeked out. It was a silver wolf with shimmering fur and faint glowing markings along his back. He wore a woven vine collar with a small blue stone. He looked shy and cautious, ready to run. Lily stopped and smiled kindly. 'Hello there,' she said softly. 'Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you.' 3
The silver wolf took a step back, his ears twitching. He was not used to kind words from humans. But Lily slowly reached into her satchel and pulled out a piece of fresh bread. 'Are you hungry?' she asked. 'I have plenty to share.' She placed the bread on a flat rock and stepped away. The wolf sniffed the air, then crept closer. 4
His nose twitched at the delicious smell. The silver wolf took a tiny bite, then another. His amber eyes softened, and his tail gave a little wag. 'Thank you,' he whispered, his voice low and gentle. Lily beamed. 'You're welcome! I'm Lily. What's your name?' The wolf hesitated, then said, 'I am Silver.' They sat together in the quiet forest, sharing bread and apples. 5
After their snack, Silver stood up and sniffed the air. 'I know a secret path,' he said. 'It has glowing footprints that lead to a lost shrine. I've always wanted to follow them, but I was too scared to go alone.' Lily's eyes sparkled with curiosity. 'Let's go together!' she said. 'Adventure is better with a friend.' Silver's ears perked up, and he gave a happy little yip. 6
Silver led Lily deeper into the forest, his glowing markings casting a soft light. Soon, they found the first glowing footprint. It shimmered with a pale blue light, like moonlight on water. Silver stepped on it carefully, and it glowed brighter under his paw. Lily followed, and they walked from one glowing print to the next, like stepping on stars. 7
As they followed the footprints, Silver grew more relaxed. He told Lily about the forest, the animals, and the old stories of the shrine. Lily listened with wide eyes, asking questions and laughing at his funny tales. 'You're not so scary after all,' she said. Silver's tail wagged. 'And you're not so strange for a human,' he replied with a grin. They walked side by side, trusting each other more with every step. 8
The path twisted through tall ferns and under low branches. The glowing footprints never faded, always leading them onward. Once, Lily tripped on a root, but Silver quickly nudged her up. 'Careful,' he said. 'The forest can be tricky.' Lily smiled. 'Thanks, Silver. I'm glad you're here.' Silver felt warm inside. He had never had a friend who trusted him like this. 9
They climbed over a mossy log and crossed a shallow stream. The footprints glowed brighter now, as if they were getting close. Silver's ears stood up. 'I think we're almost there,' he whispered. 'I can feel something special ahead.' Lily squeezed his fur gently. 'Whatever it is, we'll discover it together.' They hurried on, their hearts beating with excitement. 10
Suddenly, the trees opened up to a small clearing. In the center stood a little stone shrine, covered in vines and flowers. The glowing footprints led right to its steps. 'We found it!' Lily gasped. Silver's amber eyes shimmered with awe. 'I never thought I'd see it,' he said. The shrine was peaceful and beautiful, with a tiny roof and a carved door. It looked old but welcoming. 11
Lily and Silver stepped closer. The shrine's door had a small hole, just the right size for the blue stone on Silver's collar. 'Maybe this is the key,' Lily said. Silver gently pressed the stone against the hole, and the door swung open. Inside, there was a little room with a soft glow. On a stone table lay a tiny silver bell. When Lily rang it, a sweet chime filled the air. 12
The chime made the forest around them sparkle. Flowers bloomed, and the trees seemed to dance. Silver's markings glowed brighter, and he felt a warm happiness spread through him. 'The shrine is awake again!' he cried. 'And it's all because of you, Lily. You were kind to me, and that led us here.' Lily hugged him. 'We did it together,' she said. 'Friends make everything possible.' 13
From that day on, Lily and Silver were the best of friends. They visited the shrine often, keeping it clean and bringing flowers. The forest animals came to see the shrine too, and it became a happy gathering place. Silver was no longer shy; he had found a true friend in Lily. And Lily knew that kindness could open even the shyest heart.
