Lily lives in a little cottage at the edge of a whispering wood. She loves to draw and dream, but at night she feels small and lonely. Her Grandpa Oak tucks her in and tells her that the moon is full of secrets, and so is the valley beyond the hill. One night, unable to sleep, Lily puts on her red rain boots and yellow cardigan and creeps outside. She follows a shimmer of silver light into the woods and meets Moonbeam, a small glowing pony with a crescent moon on her forehead and tiny wings on her back. Moonbeam can talk, and she asks for Lily's help: the forgotten wishes in the valley have stopped blooming, and only a true friend can save them.

Lily climbs onto Moonbeam's warm back, and they set off through the whispering wood, cross the Stream of Stars, and enter the valley. There, flowers droop and fade because the wishes they hold have been forgotten. Moonbeam explains that when a wish is remembered, it blooms into a beautiful flower. Lily begins to share wishes of her own—for a friend, for laughter, for kindness—and one by one the flowers glow and stand up straight. But the path grows dark and twisty, and Lily feels scared. Moonbeam reminds her that friendship gives us courage, and Lily finds the bravery to continue.

This gentle fairy tale is for young readers who enjoy stories of magic, friendship, and finding courage in the dark. It shows that even small wishes can bring light and color to the world, and that a true friend can help us overcome our fears.

The Girl and the Moon Pony - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK

Lily lived in a little cottage at the edge of a whispering wood. She loved to draw and dream, but at night she felt small and lonely. Her grandpa, Grandpa Oak, tucked her in with a kiss. 'The moon is full of secrets,' he said, his round spectacles glinting. 'And so is the valley beyond the hill.' Lily wondered what secrets the valley held. 1

That night, Lily couldn't sleep. She pulled on her red rain boots and her yellow cardigan, and crept outside. The moon shone big and bright. Suddenly, a shimmer of silver light danced among the trees. Lily followed it, her heart going thump-thump. 'Hello?' she whispered. The light twinkled like a star come down to play. 2

From behind a bush stepped a pony, small and glowing. Its coat was pale silver-white, and its mane flowed like lavender and pearl. A crescent moon marked its forehead, and tiny wings fluttered on its back. 'I'm Moonbeam,' said the pony, its bell tinkling. 'I've been waiting for a friend.' Lily's hazel eyes went wide. 'You can talk!' 3

'Of course I can,' laughed Moonbeam. 'And I need your help. The forgotten wishes in the valley have stopped blooming. Will you come with me?' Lily's heart fluttered with excitement and fear. 'Is it far?' she asked. 'Not far,' said Moonbeam, 'and we'll go together.' Lily nodded and climbed onto the pony's warm back. 4

They trotted through the whispering wood, Moonbeam's hooves making no sound. The trees parted to let them pass. Lily held on to the shimmering mane, feeling brave. 'The valley is just ahead,' said Moonbeam. 'But first, we must cross the Stream of Stars.' The water sparkled with tiny lights, and Lily gasped at its beauty. 5

As they crossed the stream, Moonbeam told Lily about the valley. 'Long ago, people made wishes here,' said the pony. 'When a wish is remembered, it blooms into a beautiful flower. But if it's forgotten, the flower fades.' Lily thought of her own secret wish: to have a friend. 'Can we help them?' she asked. 'That's why we're here,' Moonbeam said. 6

They entered the valley, and Lily's breath caught. Everywhere she looked, flowers drooped, their petals pale and gray. 'Oh no,' she whispered. 'They're so sad.' Moonbeam nodded. 'We must remind them of the wishes they hold.' Lily touched a drooping bluebell gently. 'I wish for a friend,' she said. The bluebell glowed and stood up straight! 7

Moonbeam's eyes sparkled. 'You see? Your wish helped!' Lily smiled and ran to a faded daisy. 'I wish for laughter,' she said. The daisy turned bright yellow and opened its petals. One by one, Lily and Moonbeam visited the flowers, sharing wishes of hope, kindness, and joy. Slowly, the valley began to glow with color. 8

But soon, the path grew dark and twisty. Tall shadows loomed, and strange noises made Lily shiver. 'I'm scared,' she whispered. Moonbeam nuzzled her cheek. 'Remember, I'm right here. Friendship gives us courage.' Lily took a deep breath. She thought of Moonbeam's warm glow and her grandpa's words. 'Okay,' she said. 'Let's keep going.' 9

They walked on, and Lily sang a little song to chase away the shadows. Moonbeam's bell jingled along. Suddenly, a tiny light appeared ahead. 'Look!' cried Lily. It was a flower, glowing softly in the dark. 'This one is almost forgotten,' said Moonbeam. 'It needs a very special wish.' Lily knelt down and thought hard. 10

'I wish for everyone to find a friend,' Lily said. The flower blazed with light, and the darkness melted away. The path became bright and clear. 'You did it!' cheered Moonbeam. 'Your courage and kindness saved the valley.' Lily hugged the pony. 'We did it together,' she said. The flower's petals opened wide, shining like a star. 11

With the path lit, they hurried to the heart of the valley. There, the oldest flower of all, a moonflower, drooped sadly. 'This flower holds the first wish ever made here,' said Moonbeam. 'It needs the wish of a true friend.' Lily placed her hand on the moonflower. 'I wish for friendship to last forever,' she said. 12

The moonflower glowed brighter than the moon itself. Its light spread through the valley, and every flower bloomed in brilliant colors. The forgotten wishes were remembered again. 'You did it, Lily!' said Moonbeam, dancing around her. 'Your courage made every wish feel possible.' Lily laughed as petals swirled around them like confetti. 13

As the sky began to lighten, Moonbeam's glow softened. 'I must go now,' said the pony. 'But you can visit me whenever the moon is full.' Lily hugged Moonbeam tight. 'Thank you for being my friend,' she said. 'Friendship is the best wish of all.' Moonbeam nuzzled her. 'Remember, I'm always with you.' Then the pony faded into the dawn. 14

Lily walked home with a happy heart. Grandpa Oak was waiting at the door. 'You've been to the valley,' he said, smiling. 'How do you know?' asked Lily. 'You're glowing,' he said. Lily told him everything. 'Friendship gives us courage,' said Grandpa Oak. 'And courage makes every wish bloom.' Lily nodded, feeling brave and loved. 15

From that day on, Lily visited Moonbeam every full moon. They explored the valley and helped new wishes grow. Sometimes Lily felt scared, but she always remembered her friend. 'Courage is just a wish away,' she whispered. And the valley bloomed brighter than ever, because friendship had made every wish feel possible.
