Lila lives in a little blue house by the sea, and every morning she pulls on her yellow raincoat and red boots to search the beach for wonders. One sunny day she finds something extraordinary in a tide pool: a small silver-grey seal named Mira, who wears a braided seaweed band with a tiny pearl and can travel through reflections. Mira is worried, because a lost ocean memory, a glowing orb that holds a special song of the sea, has disappeared, and without it the ocean feels sad. Lila's curiosity is sparked, and she agrees to help.
Holding Mira's flipper, Lila dives through a shimmering tunnel of light into a world of rainbow coral and dancing fish. The two ask the creatures of the deep for news of the orb, and a wise old turtle points them toward the Whispering Caves, warning that the place is dark and tricky. There they find the memory flickering and dim, frightened and unable to find its way home. Though Lila feels scared, she speaks to it gently and discovers that it remembers a song of waves and sunshine. Singing together makes its light grow stronger, but the way back is blocked by a tangle of seaweed, and the pair must find another way through.
The story follows a brave, questioning child and her seal friend as they learn that courage and curiosity work best as a team, and that kindness and a shared song can restore something lost. Young readers who enjoy gentle sea adventures and stories about helping others will find a warm, hopeful tale here, told in simple language suited to reading aloud or to early independent readers.

The Girl and the Magic Seal - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
Lila lived in a little blue house by the sea. She had warm brown skin, wavy black hair in two short pigtails, and big round hazel eyes full of questions. Every morning she put on her bright yellow raincoat and red rubber boots. Then she ran to the beach to look for wonders. 'What will I find today?' she asked the waves. 1
One sunny day, Lila saw something shiny in a tide pool. It looked like a silver-grey seal, but much smaller, the size of a large dog. The seal had dark round eyes and a braided seaweed band with a tiny pearl around her neck. 'Hello,' said Lila. 'I'm Lila. Who are you?' The seal blinked and smiled. 2
'I'm Mira,' said the seal. 'I can travel through reflections.' Lila's eyes grew wide. 'Reflections?' she asked. 'Like in puddles and mirrors?' Mira nodded. 'Watch!' She dove into the tide pool, and her silver-blue fur shimmered. In the water, her reflection flickered like a star. Then she popped back up, giggling. 3
Mira looked worried. 'Something is wrong,' she said. 'A lost ocean memory has disappeared. It's a glowing orb that holds a special song of the sea. Without it, the ocean feels sad.' Lila's curiosity sparked. 'Can we find it?' she asked. 'We can try,' said Mira, 'but we must dive deep and be brave.' Lila nodded. 'I'm ready!' 4
Mira led Lila to a hidden cave where the water was calm and clear as glass. 'Take my flipper,' said Mira. 'When we jump, hold your breath and trust the reflection.' Lila felt a flutter in her tummy, but she held tight. They jumped. The water shimmered, and suddenly they were gliding through a sparkling tunnel of light. 5
Down and down they went, into a world of rainbow coral and dancing fish. Lila's red boots kicked gently. 'Where is the memory?' she asked. Mira pointed with her nose. 'Somewhere in the deep, sparkling places. We must ask the ocean creatures.' Lila said, 'Excuse me, have you seen a glowing orb?' The fish shook their heads. 6
They met a wise old turtle with moss on his shell. 'I saw a flicker of light near the Whispering Caves,' he said. 'But it's dark and tricky there.' Lila's heart beat fast, but she said, 'We can do it together.' Mira smiled. 'Courage and curiosity work well as a team.' They swam on, past swaying seaweed and tiny glowing shrimp. 7
The Whispering Caves were full of echoes. Lila heard soft, sad sounds. 'It's the memory,' whispered Mira. 'It's lost and lonely.' They peeked inside. There, in a corner, floated a glowing orb the size of a beach ball. It had swirling blue and pink light inside, and tiny sparkles like fish. But it flickered and dimmed. 8
Lila wanted to help, but she felt a little scared. The cave was dark, and the memory's light was fading. 'What if we can't reach it?' she whispered. Mira nuzzled her hand. 'You are brave, Lila. Ask it what it needs.' Lila took a deep breath. 'Hello, little memory,' she called softly. 'We're here to help you.' 9
The memory flickered brighter. 'I'm lost,' it said in a tiny voice. 'I can't find my way home.' Lila's curiosity bubbled. 'What do you remember?' she asked. 'I remember a song,' said the memory. 'A song of waves and sunshine.' Lila smiled. 'We can sing it together!' Mira hummed a gentle tune, and Lila joined in. 10
As they sang, the memory's light grew stronger. Pearlescent ribbons of light swirled around it. 'Follow me!' cried Lila. They swam out of the cave, with the memory floating between them. But the path back was blocked by a tangle of seaweed. Lila felt a knot in her tummy. 'How do we get through?' she asked. 11
Mira studied the seaweed. 'We can ask the current to help,' she said. Lila remembered her courage. 'Please, kind current,' she called, 'can you part the seaweed for us?' A gentle stream of water pushed the seaweed aside. 'Thank you!' laughed Lila. The memory glowed brighter, and they swam through the opening, side by side. 12
Up and up they rose, through shimmering water, until they burst out of the tide pool. Lila gasped for air and laughed. The memory floated above them, shining like a small sun. 'We did it!' cried Lila. Mira clapped her flippers. 'You were brave and curious, Lila. That's what saved the memory.' The memory spun happily, sending sparkles everywhere. 13
Back on the beach, the memory floated up into the sky and settled over the ocean. The waves began to sing a soft, happy song. 'It's home,' said Mira. 'And it will remember you.' Lila hugged Mira. 'Thank you for trusting me,' she said. Mira gave her a tiny pearl from her seaweed band. 'For courage and curiosity,' she said. 14
From that day on, Lila visited the tide pool every morning. Sometimes Mira appeared in the reflection, and they would talk about the deep, sparkling places. Lila learned that being brave and curious at the same time can lead to wonderful discoveries. She wore the pearl proudly and asked endless questions, always ready for the next adventure. 15
And whenever the ocean sang its special song, Lila knew the lost memory was safe and happy. She would smile and whisper, 'We found you together.' Mira would shimmer in the water, and the two friends would watch the waves dance in the sunlight, knowing that courage and curiosity make a perfect team.
