Fenn is a small desert fox with sandy-gold fur and enormous triangular ears, living in a warm, dry land where the sun always shines. At night he listens to stories about a mysterious thing called snow, and his dark eyes sparkle with curiosity as he wonders what it might be like. One winter morning a strange chill fills the air, and a snow hare named Nix, dressed in a pale silver-blue cape dusted with snowflakes, appears to lead Fenn along a magical path of swirling snow into a winter wonderland.
In this unfamiliar world Fenn learns how animals survive the cold. Nix teaches him how snow hares change the colour of their fur to hide, where squirrels store their nuts, how mice tunnel beneath the snow to find seeds, and which berries feed the birds when everything freezes. Together they build a snowman and a little snow fox, slide down a snowy hill on a piece of bark, and when a gust of wind carries Fenn's red pom-pom hat onto a frozen pond, they discover that helping each other makes even slippery places safe to cross.
At sunset Nix gives Fenn a small crystal pendant so he will remember the adventure, and Fenn returns to his warm desert home with new knowledge and a story to tell his family. The tale shows young readers that curiosity about unfamiliar places is worth following, that every creature has a clever way of coping with hard seasons, and that teamwork and kindness make new experiences less frightening.
Written for children, the story is well suited to being read aloud at bedtime or explored by early readers, and it offers gentle openings for talking about seasons, animal habits and the value of friendship.

The Fox Who Loved Snow - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
Fenn was a little desert fox with sandy-gold fur and huge triangular ears. He lived in a warm, dry land where the sun always shone. At night, he listened to stories about a magical thing called snow. "What is snow like?" he wondered, gazing at the stars. His dark round eyes sparkled with curiosity, and his fluffy cream-tipped tail swished with longing. 1
One winter morning, Fenn woke to a strange chill in the air. He put on his teal scarf with white stripes and his red pompom hat. Suddenly, a sparkling light danced before him. A snow hare with icy-blue fur and frost-tipped ears appeared, wearing a pale silver-blue cape dusted with snowflakes. "Hello, Fenn," said the hare. "I am Nix, and I have come to take you on a snowy adventure." 2
Fenn's heart leaped with joy. "Really? I've always dreamed of seeing snow!" Nix smiled, and with a wave of his paw, a swirling path of snowflakes appeared. "Follow me," said Nix, "but first, let me teach you how animals stay warm in winter." Fenn nodded eagerly, his tiny black nose twitching with excitement. Together, they stepped onto the magical path and vanished into a flurry of white. 3
They arrived in a winter wonderland! Soft white snow covered the ground, and trees sparkled with frost. Fenn gasped. "It's beautiful!" He felt the cold snow under his paws and shivered a little. Nix wrapped his warm cape around Fenn. "Snow is cold, but we can have fun and stay warm," said Nix. "Let's build a snowman!" Fenn's ears perked up, and he scooped up a pawful of snow. 4
Fenn rolled a big snowball while Nix rolled a smaller one. They stacked them up and added a carrot nose and pebble eyes. "Our snowman needs a hat!" Fenn laughed, placing his red pom-pom hat on top. Nix added a twig smile. "Now he looks happy!" said Nix. Fenn's teal scarf fluttered as he danced around their creation. "This is the best day ever!" he cheered, his dark eyes shining with delight. 5
Next, Nix showed Fenn how to slide down a snowy hill. Fenn sat on a flat piece of bark, and Nix gave him a gentle push. "Wheee!" Fenn zoomed down, snow spraying around him. At the bottom, he tumbled into a soft snowbank. "That was amazing!" he giggled, shaking snow from his fur. Nix slid down after him, his frost-tipped ears twitching with amusement. 6
As they walked, Fenn noticed tiny tracks in the snow. "Who made these?" he asked. Nix pointed to a hole in a tree. "That's where a squirrel stores nuts for winter," he explained. "And look here—rabbit tracks! Hares like me change our fur to white to hide in the snow." Fenn looked at his own sandy fur. "I would stand out!" he said. "But you have your scarf to keep you warm," Nix replied with a wink. 7
Fenn wondered how animals find food when everything is frozen. Nix led him to a bush with bright red berries. "Birds eat these," said Nix. "And under the snow, mice dig tunnels to find seeds." Fenn's huge ears twitched as he listened. "So winter is like a big puzzle," he said. "Exactly!" Nix nodded. "Every animal has a clever way to survive." Fenn felt proud to learn these winter secrets. 8
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew Fenn's red pom-pom hat off his head! It tumbled across the snow. "Oh no!" cried Fenn, chasing after it. The hat landed near a frozen pond. Fenn stopped—the ice looked slippery. "How will I get it?" he worried. Nix caught up and said, "We can help each other." Nix held Fenn's paw, and together they carefully stepped onto the ice, sliding gently to reach the hat. 9
With the hat safely back on, Fenn laughed. "That was a little scary, but we did it together!" Nix smiled. "Teamwork makes winter adventures safer." They decided to build a small snow fox as a friend for their snowman. Fenn shaped the ears, and Nix added a twig tail. "Now our snow fox can watch over the hill," said Fenn. They stood back and admired their snowy friends, feeling warm inside despite the cold. 10
As the sun began to set, Nix said, "It's time for you to go home, Fenn. But remember, exploring new places teaches you many things." Fenn hugged Nix. "Thank you for showing me snow," he said. "I learned so much!" Nix gave him a small crystal pendant. "Keep this to remember our adventure." Fenn put it around his neck, and with a final wave, Nix disappeared in a swirl of snowflakes. 11
Fenn found himself back in his warm desert home. The air was dry and the sand was soft. He looked at the crystal pendant and smiled. His teal scarf still smelled of fresh snow. He told his family about Nix and the winter wonderland. "Snow is cold, but animals have clever ways to stay warm and find food," he explained. His eyes sparkled as he spoke. 12
That night, Fenn dreamed of snowflakes and snow hares. He dreamed of sliding down hills and building snowmen. When he woke, he felt braver and more curious than ever. He decided to explore new places near his home. "There's so much to learn!" he thought. He put on his red pom-pom hat and went outside to play, ready for new adventures.
