In the heart of the green forest, a young fox with bright orange fur and a white-tipped tail discovers a mysterious crystal clock glimmering under a bush. Clear as ice and sparkly as a star, it has tiny golden hands that move by themselves and chimes that seem to carry a hidden meaning. Curious but puzzled, the fox tucks the clock into his brown leather satchel and sets out to understand what its strange sounds are trying to tell him.
A wise old owl wearing small round spectacles and a thin blue scarf glides down to help. Settling beside the fox on a mossy log, she explains that each chime marks a special moment of the day: a bright morning note that calls for joy, a soft midday hum that reminds us to pause and share a meal with a friend, and a warm evening lullaby that invites gratitude. Together they listen, and the fox learns that time is a gift, something to be used well rather than wasted. When a quick, giggling chime rings out, the owl reveals it is the friendship chime, and the fox's tail wags with delight.
From then on the fox carries the clock everywhere, planning his days around its melody and filling the hours with small kindnesses. When a strong wind knocks the clock to the grass and its chimes turn jumbled, the owl sits beside him and they sort out the sounds together. Through this gentle tale, young readers learn about the rhythm of a day, the value of paying attention to time, and the comfort of a friend who helps when things grow confusing. It is a warm story suited to children beginning to understand routines, gratitude and companionship.

A Chapter from the Book
The Fox's Crystal Clock - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
In the heart of the green forest, where sunbeams danced through the leaves, lived a young fox with bright orange fur and a white-tipped tail. His amber eyes sparkled with curiosity as he explored every path and hollow. One morning, while sniffing among the ferns, he spotted something glimmering under a bush. It was a clock, clear as ice and sparkly as a star, with tiny golden hands that moved all by themselves. The fox tilted his head, wondering what it could be. 1
The fox gently picked up the crystal clock and placed it in his brown leather satchel. He carried it to a mossy log and sat down to watch. The clock was transparent, and he could see tiny gears turning inside like a secret dance. He tapped the glass with his paw, and it let out a soft, strange chime that seemed to echo in the air. What did it mean? The fox's ears twitched with puzzlement. 2
Just then, a wise old owl glided down from the branches above. She wore small round spectacles on her beak and a thin blue scarf around her neck. Her huge golden eyes blinked kindly at the fox. "I see you've found the crystal clock," she said in a gentle voice. "Its chimes are unusual, but they tell the story of time." The fox looked up, hopeful. "Can you help me understand?" he asked. 3
The owl settled on the log beside the fox and adjusted her spectacles. "Each chime marks a special moment of the day," she explained. "Listen carefully." The clock chimed once, a high, clear note like a bird's call. "That is the morning chime," said the owl. "It tells us to wake up and greet the new day with joy." The fox listened, and the sound seemed to fill him with energy. 4
The clock chimed again, softer this time, like a gentle hum. "That is the midday chime," the owl said. "It reminds us to pause and rest, to share a meal with a friend." The fox thought of his breakfast berries and smiled. He had never noticed how time flowed before. The owl's round golden eyes twinkled. "Time is a gift," she said. "Each chime is a moment we can use well or waste." 5
The fox and the owl listened together as the clock chimed a third time, a low, warm sound like a lullaby. "That is the evening chime," the owl whispered. "It tells us to slow down and be thankful for the day." The fox felt calm and cozy. He realized that every chime had a meaning, and each one was important. He looked at the owl with gratitude. "Thank you for teaching me," he said. 6
From that day on, the fox carried the crystal clock everywhere in his satchel. He paid attention to each chime and learned to plan his days. When the morning chime rang, he would stretch and start his adventures. When the midday chime sounded, he would find a friend to share nuts and berries. And when the evening chime sang, he would curl up in his den, happy and peaceful. 7
One afternoon, the fox heard a chime he didn't recognize. It was quick and bright, like a giggle. He hurried to the owl. "What does this one mean?" he asked. The owl listened and smiled. "That is the friendship chime," she said. "It rings when two friends share a happy moment." The fox's tail wagged. "Then it's ringing for us!" he cried, and they both laughed. 8
The owl taught the fox more about the crystal clock. She showed him how the golden hands moved in circles, marking the hours. "Time goes on and on," she said, "but we can choose how to spend it." The fox nodded, understanding. He decided to use his time wisely, helping others and learning new things. The clock's chimes became a melody he loved, guiding him through each day. 9
Sometimes the fox and the owl would sit together and listen to the chimes in silence. They would count each one and talk about what they had done since the last. The fox learned that even a short time could be filled with kindness. He would bring flowers to the owl or help a lost beetle find its way home. The owl watched with proud, gentle eyes. 10
One day, a strong wind blew through the forest and knocked the crystal clock from the fox's satchel. It tumbled onto the soft grass without breaking, but its chimes became jumbled and confusing. The fox felt worried. "What if I can't understand it anymore?" he asked. The owl flew down and said, "Don't worry. We'll listen together and sort out the sounds." 11
The owl and the fox sat side by side, ears and eyes focused on the clock. They listened carefully to each chime, and the owl explained them one by one. Slowly, the chimes became clear again. The fox realized that with a friend's help, even confusing times could be understood. He thanked the owl with a nuzzle. "Friendship makes everything better," he said. 12
From then on, the fox and the owl were inseparable. They shared many happy hours, watching the sun rise and set, always mindful of the crystal clock's chimes. The fox never wasted a single chime. He used each moment to learn, to play, and to be kind. And the owl was always there, a wise and gentle friend, reminding him that time is a precious gift.
