On a quiet beach under a sky full of stars, a boy named Leo notices a bright streak falling from the sky and splashing into the sea. What rises from the foam is a silver-blue dolphin speckled with tiny glowing stars, a crescent moon mark on its forehead. The dolphin, Star, comes from a sky ocean where stars swim like fish and waves glow with light, and that ocean has been broken by a great storm. Some of the night sky's stars are already missing, and Star asks Leo to help make things right.
Leo climbs onto Star's back, and a swirl of starlight carries them up to the shimmering ocean floating among the clouds. There they find cracked waves and stars scattered across the cloudy shore, some flickering weakly and others gone dark. Star teaches Leo to gather warm, tickly stardust to mend the cracks and to carry each heavy, glowing star back to its place, from the ones near the Big Dipper onward. When a dark, rumbling cloud threatens to hide their work, the two push it away together, and the sky ocean slowly shines again.
The story is a gentle tale for young readers about curiosity, courage and teamwork, and about what can be accomplished when two friends work side by side. It also carries a quiet lesson about friendship and letting go, as Star's glow begins to pulse and a path home appears. Children who love the sea, the stars and animal companions will find Leo and Star easy to root for.

The Boy and the Star Dolphin - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
On a quiet beach, under a sky full of stars, a boy named Leo looked up. He had warm light-brown skin, curly black hair, and big amber eyes that sparkled like the stars above. A tiny starshaped freckle sat above one eyebrow, and a small dimple appeared on his cheek when he smiled. He loved watching the ocean at night, listening to the waves whisper secrets. But tonight, something was different in the sky. 1
Leo noticed a bright streak falling from the stars. It grew bigger and closer, until it splashed into the sea with a soft plop. Leo ran to the water's edge, his red canvas sneakers sinking into the wet sand. The waves bubbled, and a shimmering shape rose from the foam. It was a dolphin, sleek and silver-blue, speckled with tiny glowing stars. Its turquoise eyes blinked at him, and a crescent moon mark glowed on its forehead. 2
"Hello," Leo whispered, his heart thumping. The dolphin let out a gentle whistle and nuzzled his hand. Its skin felt cool and smooth, like polished stone. A soft halo of starlight glowed around its fins, and a faint shimmering trail followed its back. "I am Star," the dolphin seemed to say. "I come from the sky ocean, and it is broken. Can you help me fix it?" Leo nodded, his curiosity overcoming his fear. 3
Star explained that the sky ocean was a place where stars swim like fish and waves glow with light. But a great storm had scattered the stars and cracked the shining waves. "Without the sky ocean," Star said, "the night sky will grow dim." Leo looked up and saw that some stars were indeed missing. "I'll help you," he said. "But how do we get there?" Star's eyes twinkled. "Climb on my back and hold tight." 4
Leo climbed onto Star's back, his rope bracelet with the glass bead pressing against the dolphin's cool skin. Star swam in a wide circle, faster and faster, until a swirl of starlight lifted them into the air. Leo gasped as they rose above the waves, the beach shrinking below. They flew, higher and higher, until they reached a shimmering ocean in the sky, floating among the clouds. 5
The sky ocean was beautiful but messy. Shining waves were cracked like broken glass, and stars lay scattered on the cloudy shore. Some stars flickered weakly, while others had lost their glow entirely. "We must fix the waves first," Star said. "They are the path for the stars to swim." Leo saw a crack in a wave and touched it gently. It felt like cold silk. "How do we mend them?" he asked. 6
Star showed Leo how to gather stardust from the cloudy shore. The dust sparkled in Leo's palm, warm and tickly. "Sprinkle it on the cracks," Star said. Leo did, and the cracks began to close with a soft hiss. They worked side by side, Star swimming along the waves and Leo patching the cracks. The shining waves slowly became smooth and whole again, reflecting the light of the stars. 7
Next, they had to put the stars back in their places. Each star was heavy, like a warm, glowing stone. Leo carried them one by one, following Star's guidance. "That one goes near the Big Dipper," Star said, pointing with its nose. Leo placed the star, and it immediately glowed brighter. They laughed as they worked, and Leo forgot he was far from home. 8
As they worked, Leo noticed that Star's crescent moon mark glowed a little brighter with each star they placed. "Why do you have that mark?" Leo asked. Star whistled softly. "It shows I am from the sky ocean. But now I am here with you." Leo smiled. "I'm glad you are." They continued, their teamwork making the sky ocean shine again. 9
Suddenly, a big cloud rolled in, dark and rumbly. It threatened to cover the stars they had placed. "Oh no!" Leo cried. "The cloud will hide our work!" Star swam in a circle, creating a gentle breeze. "Together, we can push it away," Star said. Leo held onto Star's fin, and they blew the cloud away with a big whoosh. The stars twinkled safely again. "Teamwork!" Leo cheered. 10
With the cloud gone, they placed the last star. The sky ocean now sparkled like a giant, glowing tapestry. The waves shimmered, and the stars sang a soft, twinkling song. Star let out a happy whistle. "We did it!" Leo shouted, hugging Star's neck. The dolphin's turquoise eyes shone with joy. "Thank you, Leo. You are a true friend." 11
But then Star's glow began to pulse, and a shimmering path appeared, leading back home. "I must go now," Star said softly. "The sky ocean needs me to guide the stars." Leo's heart felt heavy. "Will I ever see you again?" he asked. Star nuzzled his cheek. "Look up at night. I will be there, swimming among the stars. Our friendship will always connect us." 12
Star swam to the shimmering path, its star-speckled skin glowing brightly. "Goodbye, Leo!" it whistled. "Goodbye, Star!" Leo called. He watched as Star leaped into the sky, becoming one with the stars. The sky ocean shone brighter than ever, and Leo knew that somewhere up there, his friend was swimming happily. He touched the star freckle above his eyebrow and smiled.
