Late one clear night, Leo, a curious boy with warm light brown skin and big hazel eyes, notices a silvery glow drifting among the trees at the edge of the woods. Pulling on his blue hooded jacket and mustard yellow scarf, he follows it to a hidden meadow where silver flowers shimmer under the moon. There he meets the Moon Rabbit, a small creature with glowing silver-white fur, pale gold-tipped ears, a crescent moon mark on its forehead, and a woven vine satchel, who guards the lunar flowers every night.
The rabbit is worried: a strange frost colder than any winter chill is coming, and it cannot cover all the flowers alone before dawn. Leo promises to help, and the two work through the night wrapping each delicate bloom in soft silver cloth. As the cold deepens, Leo learns about the flowers that guide lost travelers home, receives a warm seed to keep in his pocket, and discovers that keeping a promise takes patience and care. When a fierce wind tears a cover away and his numb fingers cannot tie it, the rabbit shows him that some tasks can only be finished together.
This gentle bedtime tale is suited to young children and to parents or teachers reading aloud. It explores trust, teamwork, kindness, and the quiet pride that comes from staying true to a promise, all set in a moonlit meadow where a single silver petal becomes a lasting reminder.

A Chapter from the Book
The Boy and the Moon Rabbit - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
In a little house at the edge of the woods lived a boy named Leo. He had warm light brown skin, messy dark brown hair, and large round hazel eyes that noticed everything. One clear night, while everyone else was asleep, Leo saw a silvery glow floating among the trees. He pulled on his blue hooded jacket and mustard yellow scarf, and tiptoed outside to see what it was. 1
The glow led Leo to a hidden meadow where silver flowers shimmered under the moon. Each petal sparkled like a tiny star, and the air smelled sweet and cool. Leo had never seen anything so beautiful. He knelt beside the flowers and whispered, 'Are you magic?' Just then, a soft voice answered from behind a bush. 'Yes, they are. And they are my special care.' 2
Out hopped a small rabbit with silver-white fur that glowed faintly in the dark. Its long ears were tipped with pale gold, and a crescent moon mark shone on its forehead. In its tiny paws, it carried a woven vine satchel. 'I am the Moon Rabbit,' it said, its deep violet eyes gentle and wise. 'I guard these lunar flowers every night.' 3
Leo's eyes grew wide. 'They're the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen!' he said. The rabbit smiled. 'Thank you, young friend. But tonight I am worried. A strange frost is coming, colder than any winter chill. It can harm the flowers and make them fade.' Leo looked at the shimmering petals and felt a tug at his heart. 'That's awful!' he said. 4
The Moon Rabbit set down its tiny lantern, which shone like moonlight, and opened its satchel. 'I have warm seeds and covers,' it said. 'But I cannot protect all the flowers alone. The frost will come before dawn.' Leo stood up straight, his gaptoothed smile full of determination. 'I can help!' he said. 'I promise to keep them safe.' The rabbit's violet eyes twinkled. 'Then I trust you, Leo.' 5
The rabbit handed Leo a bundle of soft, silver cloth. 'Wrap each flower gently,' it said. 'The frost cannot touch them if they are covered.' Leo nodded and began to work. The flowers were delicate, and he was careful not to bend a single stem. The Moon Rabbit watched, its crescent mark glowing softly. 'You have kind hands,' it said. Leo felt proud. 6
The wind grew colder, and a thin white mist crept across the meadow. Leo's breath puffed in little clouds. He pulled his mustard scarf tighter and kept working. 'The frost is here!' whispered the rabbit. Leo covered the last flower just as tiny ice crystals began to sparkle on the grass. 'We did it!' he cheered. But the rabbit shook its head. 'We must stay until morning.' 7
Leo's eyes felt heavy, but he remembered his promise. He sat beside the rabbit and watched the frost swirl around them. 'Will you tell me about the flowers?' he asked. The rabbit nodded. 'They bloom only under the moon, and their light guides lost travelers home.' Leo listened, and the night felt less cold with a friend beside him. 8
The frost grew thicker, and Leo shivered. The rabbit opened its satchel and gave him a tiny seed. 'Plant this in your pocket,' it said. 'It will keep you warm.' Leo did, and a gentle heat spread through him. 'Thank you,' he said. 'But what about you?' The rabbit smiled. 'My fur is warm enough. Your promise keeps me warm too.' 9
As the night went on, Leo checked every flower. Some covers had slipped, and he fixed them quickly. The rabbit held up its lantern to light the way. 'You are a good guardian,' it said. Leo beamed. 'I want to be,' he replied. 'Because you trusted me.' The rabbit's ears twitched happily. 'Trust is a gift,' it said. 'And you are keeping it well.' 10
Just before dawn, the frost grew fierce. A cold wind blew one cover right off a flower! Leo gasped and ran to fix it, but his fingers were numb. 'I can't tie it!' he cried. The Moon Rabbit hopped over. 'Together,' it said. Leo held the cloth, and the rabbit tied a tiny knot with its paws. The flower was safe. 'Teamwork!' cheered Leo. 11
The sky turned pink and gold, and the frost melted away. One by one, the lunar flowers opened their petals and shone brighter than ever. The Moon Rabbit's eyes sparkled. 'You kept your promise, Leo,' it said. 'You stayed all night and protected them.' Leo's gap-toothed smile spread wide. 'I'm glad I did,' he said. 'It was important.' 12
The rabbit reached into its satchel and pulled out a single silver petal. 'This is for you,' it said. 'A reminder that trust is a treasure.' Leo held the petal gently. 'Will I see you again?' he asked. The rabbit nodded. 'Every night, if you look for the moon.' Then it hopped into the fading shadows, its lantern glowing like a star. 13
Leo walked home as the sun rose. His blue jacket was dusty, and his boots were wet with dew, but his heart felt full. He put the silver petal on his windowsill, where it caught the morning light. 'I kept my promise,' he whispered. And he knew that being trusted was a wonderful, important thing.
