In a sunny village at the edge of a wide green valley, a curious boy named Leo discovers a mysterious goat with a creamy white coat, amber eyes, and silver hooves that sparkle when it stamps. To his amazement, each stamp of the goat's hoof brings forth fresh water from the dry ground. Leo names the goat Sparkle and welcomes it into his home, excited by the possibilities of their new friendship.

The next day, Leo and Sparkle set off to explore and come upon a struggling orchard. The old orchard keeper, dressed in a patched brown robe and a wide straw hat, explains that his spring has dried up and his trees are thirsty. Leo offers Sparkle's help, and the goat's magic brings water to the parched earth. Together, they dig channels to guide the water to the trees, and gradually the orchard begins to revive, with brown leaves turning green and buds appearing on the branches.

As the orchard blooms with red apples, Leo learns a valuable lesson about the true purpose of his goat's magic: it is best when used to help others. The story highlights the joy of generosity and the importance of sharing one's gifts with the community. With its gentle narrative and vivid illustrations, this tale is perfect for young readers who enjoy stories about friendship, nature, and the magic of kindness.

The Boy and the Magic Goat - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK

In a sunny village at the edge of a wide green valley, a boy named Leo lived with his mother. Leo had warm brown skin, short curly black hair, and large dark brown eyes that sparkled with curiosity. He wore a faded blue tunic and carried a small mustard-yellow shoulder bag. Every day, he explored the fields and streams, always looking for something new. 1

One morning, Leo followed a narrow path he had never seen before. It led to a cool, shady grove where a strange goat stood quietly. The goat had a creamy white shaggy coat, a soft grey muzzle, and amber eyes with a gentle glow. A braided red cord with a small brass bell hung around its neck. 2

The goat's short curved horns had faint golden spirals, and its silver hooves sparkled when it stamped. Leo knelt down and offered a handful of sweet grass. The goat nibbled and nuzzled his hand. "Hello," Leo whispered. "Where did you come from?" The goat just blinked its glowing eyes and stamped a silver hoof. 3

To Leo's surprise, a tiny trickle of water bubbled up from the ground where the hoof had struck. "You can find water!" Leo gasped. The goat jingled its bell and stamped again, and a small pool formed. Leo laughed with delight. "You're a magic goat!" he said. The goat bowed its head as if to say yes. 4

The goat followed Leo home, its bell jingling softly. Leo's mother gave them bread and milk. "What a gentle friend," she said. Leo named the goat Sparkle, because of the shining hooves. Sparkle stamped happily, and a little fountain splashed in the yard. Leo clapped his hands. "We'll have water wherever we go!" he cheered. 5

The next day, Leo and Sparkle set off to explore. They walked past fields and hills until they came to a high wooden fence. Behind it stood an orchard with rows of trees. But the trees looked sad and dry. Their leaves were brown and curled, and the ground was cracked like old pottery. Leo's smile faded. 6

An old man in a patched brown robe and a wide straw hat leaned on a wooden walking stick. His olive skin was wrinkled, and his faded green eyes looked tired. "Welcome, young friend," he said. "I am the orchard keeper. My trees are thirsty, but the spring has dried up. I have no water for them." 7

Leo looked at the drooping trees and felt a tug in his heart. "We can help!" he said. "My goat can find water." The orchard keeper raised his wispy grey eyebrows. "Can it?" he asked. Sparkle stepped forward and sniffed the dry earth. The goat's amber eyes glowed brighter. It walked slowly along the rows, its silver hooves clicking on the hard ground. 8

Sparkle stopped near the oldest tree. It stamped its hoof once, twice, three times. The ground trembled, and suddenly a fresh spring burst up! Clear water bubbled and splashed, forming a small pool. "Water!" Leo shouted. The orchard keeper's tired face broke into a smile. "A spring! A hidden spring!" he cried, leaning on his stick. 9

Leo and the orchard keeper dug little channels to guide the water to the trees. Sparkle stamped its hoof again, and more springs appeared. The water flowed in tiny streams, reaching the roots of every tree. The dry ground drank greedily. The orchard keeper fetched a wooden bucket and carried water to the farthest trees. "We must hurry," he said. "The trees are very thirsty." 10

Leo filled his yellow shoulder bag with water and poured it on the smallest trees. Sparkle trotted beside him, stamping to make more springs. The old man's walking stick tapped a happy rhythm. "I never thought I'd see water here again," he said. "You and your goat are a gift." Leo smiled, but he was thinking hard. 11

As the water soaked into the earth, something wonderful happened. The brown leaves began to unfurl, turning green. Tiny buds appeared on the branches. "Look!" Leo pointed. The orchard keeper laughed. "The trees are waking up!" he said. Sparkle jingled its bell and stamped, and a gentle rain of water sparkled in the sunlight. The orchard was coming back to life. 12

Leo looked at Sparkle and then at the orchard keeper. "My goat's magic is special," he said. "But it's best when we use it to help others." The orchard keeper nodded. "That's a wise thing to know," he said. "Your gift has saved my orchard. Thank you, Leo." Sparkle nuzzled Leo's hand, and Leo felt warm and proud. 13

Weeks passed, and the orchard bloomed. Apples grew red and round, and the branches were heavy with fruit. The orchard keeper filled baskets and shared them with the whole village. People came from far and wide to see the magic spring. Leo and Sparkle visited often, and the orchard keeper always saved the biggest apple for them. 14

The orchard keeper gave Leo a small pouch of apple seeds. "Plant these in your garden," he said. "And remember, a gift grows best when it's shared." Leo planted the seeds, and soon his own little trees began to grow. Sparkle stamped a tiny spring beside them, and Leo knew it would always be there for anyone who needed it.
