Kira is a gentle koala with soft grey fur and a big black nose who lives in a tall, broad tree deep in the green forest. The tree, with its faint, sad face in the trunk, is her beloved home and safe place. After visiting a cousin for a few days, Kira returns carrying a single eucalyptus leaf as a gift, eager to be back in her cozy tree. But as she approaches, she stops in shock: a large branch has broken, the bark is cracked and peeling, and the tree looks weary and sad. When she climbs up, the tree creaks and wobbles, and she realizes it is no longer safe. With tears in her eyes, Kira feels small and lost, unsure where to go.

Just then, Pip, a cheerful gliding possum with warm brown fur and bright amber eyes, swoops down and offers to help. Together, they set off through the forest to find Kira a new home. They explore several trees: one with a dark, damp hollow that doesn't feel right, another with a narrow fork that is too uncomfortable. As they search, Kira's sadness begins to fade. She notices colorful butterflies and the sweet smell of flowers, and Pip's jokes make her laugh. She starts to feel curious about what they might find next.

This heartwarming story teaches children about change, loss, and friendship. It shows that even when something familiar is gone, new possibilities can open up with the help of a friend. The Koala's Empty Tree - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK

Deep in the green forest, where the leaves whispered and the branches swayed, lived a gentle koala named Kira. She had soft grey fur, fluffy round ears with white inner tufts, and a big black nose. Every day, she climbed her favorite old tree, a tall, broad tree with a faint, sad face in its trunk. It was her home, her safe place, and she loved it dearly. 1

One sunny morning, Kira woke up and sniffed the air. She had been away for a few days, visiting a cousin. Now she was eager to return to her cozy tree. She carried a single eucalyptus leaf in her paw as a little gift. She imagined the familiar bark under her claws and the rustle of leaves above her head. Home was waiting, or so she thought. 2

As Kira approached her tree, she stopped. Something was wrong. A large branch had broken and hung crookedly, and the bark was cracked and peeling. The leaves drooped, and the faint face in the trunk looked weary and sad. Kira's big dark eyes filled with worry. She touched the rough bark gently. "Oh no," she whispered. "What happened to you?" 3

Kira climbed up slowly, but the tree creaked and wobbled. The broken branch made it hard to find a safe spot. She felt a lump in her throat. This was not the cozy home she remembered. The tree seemed to sigh, its closed eyes sorrowful. Kira hugged the trunk, but she knew it was no longer safe. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She felt small and lost. 4

Just then, a whoosh of air made Kira look up. A small, slender creature swooped down from a higher branch. It was Pip, a gliding possum with warm brown fur, a cream underside, and wide gliding membranes stretched like a cape. His long tail curled behind him, and his bright amber eyes sparkled. "Hello! You look sad," Pip said cheerfully. "Can I help?" 5

Kira sniffled and pointed at the damaged tree. "My home is broken," she said. "I don't know where to go." Pip landed softly beside her and patted her paw. "Don't worry," he said. "The forest is full of trees. I know it well. Let's find you a new home together." Kira felt a tiny spark of hope. She nodded and wiped her eyes. "Okay," she said. "Let's try." 6

Pip stretched his gliding membrane and leaped into the air. He soared gracefully between the trees, and Kira climbed down to follow him on the ground. They moved through the forest, past ferns and flowers. Pip called out, "This way!" and Kira hurried after him, her heart beating fast. She had never explored this part of the forest before. Everything felt new and a little strange. 7

They came to a tall tree with a hollow trunk. "How about this one?" Pip asked. Kira climbed up to peek inside. The hollow was dark and damp, and it smelled of old wood. She shook her head. "It doesn't feel right," she said. Pip nodded. "That's okay. We'll keep looking." They moved on, and Kira felt glad she had a friend to help her search. 8

Next, they found a tree with a wide fork in its branches. Kira tried to settle there, but the fork was too narrow and uncomfortable. She wiggled and shifted, but she couldn't get cozy. "This won't work either," she sighed. Pip smiled kindly. "No rush," he said. "The right tree is out there somewhere. We just have to be patient." Kira took a deep breath and followed him again. 9

As they walked, Kira's sadness began to fade. She noticed the colorful butterflies and the sweet smell of flowers. Pip told her jokes and made her laugh. "You're brave to try new things," he said. Kira felt proud. She realized that even though her old home was gone, the forest still held many wonders. She began to feel curious about what they might find next. 10

Then Pip swooped ahead and called, "Kira, come quick!" Kira hurried over and gasped. There stood a beautiful tree with a wide, leafy crown. Its bark was smooth and healthy, and small white blossoms dotted its branches. In the trunk, a warm, smiling face seemed to welcome her. Kira's eyes widened. "Oh," she breathed. "It's lovely." 11

Pip landed on a branch and grinned. "Do you like it?" he asked. Kira climbed up slowly, testing the bark. It was strong and safe. The leaves rustled softly, like a gentle song. She found a cozy spot in the fork of two branches. It felt just right. She looked at Pip with grateful eyes. "Thank you," she said. "I think this could be home." 12

Kira settled into her new tree. The warm face in the trunk seemed to beam at her. She felt safe and happy. Pip curled up beside her, his long tail wrapped around a branch. "You see?" he said. "Change can be scary, but it can also bring good things." Kira nodded. She thought of her old tree and felt a little sad, but also grateful for the new home she had found. 13

That evening, Kira looked out from her new tree. The forest was peaceful, and the stars began to twinkle. She realized that even though things change, she could be brave and adaptable. With a little help from a friend, she had found a safe new home. She felt warm inside and smiled. "I'm okay," she whispered to the night.
