The Cat Who Painted Dreams - Author : Ebru Mina TOMURCUK
In a cozy little house at the edge of town lived Luna, a cat with soft charcoal-grey fur and large amber eyes. Every night, when the world grew quiet, Luna put on her tiny beret and her red paint-splattered apron. She mixed colors and painted dream landscapes for children who could not sleep. Her brush danced across the paper, leaving trails of starlight and moonlight. 1
Luna's paintings were magical. When a child finally drifted off, they would step right into the picture and explore its gentle hills and sparkling streams. Luna painted warm beaches, whispering forests, and skies full of friendly stars. She loved helping children find sweet dreams. Her friend Pip, a tiny dormouse with a blue knitted scarf, often watched her work. 'You make the night brighter, Luna,' Pip said. 2
One evening, Luna painted a new scene: a winding path lined with glowing flowers and tall, twisty trees. She added a silver moon and a soft, grassy hill. 'This one is for Toby,' she whispered. Toby was a shy boy with messy dark curly hair who often had trouble sleeping. Luna hoped her painting would help him feel calm and safe. 3
But as Luna painted, her brush slipped. A swirl of purple and blue mixed together, and the path twisted into a confusing maze. Luna frowned. 'Oh no,' she meowed. 'That's not what I meant to paint.' She didn't know that Toby had already fallen asleep, and her painting had appeared in his dream. Toby stepped into the maze, clutching his stuffed rabbit, and soon felt lost. 4
In his dream, Toby walked down the winding path. The flowers glowed, but the turns were sharp and strange. He couldn't find his way out. 'Hello?' he called. 'Is anyone there?' But only the echo of his own voice answered. He held his rabbit tight and tried not to worry. Meanwhile, Luna felt a tug at her whiskers. Something was wrong. 5
Luna peered into her painting and saw Toby wandering inside the maze. 'Pip!' she cried. 'Toby is lost in the dream maze!' Pip's big dark eyes widened. 'We must help him!' he squeaked. Luna grabbed her paintbrush and her apron pocket, which held a tiny lantern. Pip lit the lantern, and together they stepped through the painting into the dream world. 6
The dream world was soft and glowing, but the maze was full of twists and turns. Luna's amber eyes searched for Toby. 'We'll find him,' she said bravely. Pip nodded, his blue scarf fluttering. They walked past bushes that shimmered like stardust. 'Which way?' Pip asked. 'Let's follow the glowing flowers,' Luna suggested. 'They might lead us to Toby.' 7
As they walked, Luna noticed that the maze walls were made of her own paint strokes. 'I painted this,' she said. 'I can change it!' She dipped her brush in the air and painted a bright red arrow. It pointed the way. Pip cheered. 'That's clever!' They followed the arrow, but the maze shifted again. Luna painted more arrows, and slowly, they found a path. 8
Meanwhile, Toby sat on a soft hill in the maze. He felt scared and alone. 'I want to go home,' he whispered. Just then, he saw a tiny light bobbing in the distance. It was Pip with his lantern! Toby rubbed his eyes. 'A mouse?' he said. Pip waved. 'Don't worry! Luna and I are here to help you.' Toby smiled a little. 9
Luna bounded over, her fluffy tail swishing. 'Toby, we'll guide you home,' she said gently. Toby hugged his rabbit. 'I'm glad you're here,' he said. Luna painted a glowing path on the ground. 'Follow the stars,' she said. They walked together, with Pip's lantern lighting the way. The maze seemed less scary now that they were together. 10
But the maze had one last trick. A wall of fog blocked their path. Toby shivered. 'What now?' Pip looked worried. Luna thought for a moment. 'We can paint a bridge,' she said. She mixed colors and painted a rainbow bridge over the fog. It shimmered and held strong. 'Wow!' Toby gasped. 'You made that?' Luna smiled. 'Art can solve many problems.' 11
They crossed the bridge safely. On the other side, the maze opened into a beautiful garden filled with glowing flowers. In the center was a door made of moonlight. 'That's the way home,' Luna said. Toby ran to the door and hugged Luna and Pip. 'Thank you,' he said. 'I couldn't have done it without you.' Luna's heart felt warm and full. 12
Luna painted a soft, warm light around Toby. 'Close your eyes,' she said. 'When you open them, you'll be in your bed.' Toby closed his eyes, still holding his rabbit. Luna and Pip waved goodbye. Then Toby woke up in his room, feeling happy and safe. He smiled and whispered, 'Thank you, Luna and Pip.' 13
Back in the real world, Luna hung her paintbrush on its hook. She looked at her painting and saw that the maze had turned into a lovely garden. 'We did it,' Pip said, curling up beside her. Luna purred. 'From now on, I'll paint only gentle paths.' She dipped her brush and added a tiny dormouse to the picture, wearing a blue scarf. 14
The next night, Luna painted a new dream for Toby: a meadow with butterflies and a friendly moon. Toby slept peacefully, and his dreams were full of light. Luna learned that her paintings could bring comfort and joy to children. And with Pip by her side, she knew that every night could be a new adventure, full of kindness and creativity.
